Good to hear from you Holly, glad you are ok and getting out and about. Dumpling, hope they manage to sort out something for you, I was just thinking I could do with a perching stool myself, will have to see about getting one, my back protests if I stand for more than 5 minutes.
OH and I have sorted and checked the cupboard the the back bedroom I use for tin storage and also the one in the hall that holds the flour for my bread etc. I just need to keep the kitchen ingredient shelf in the kitchen stocked and also look at meat for the freezer and we will be ok should we have a bad winter.
Dullish morning again, the sun was bright when we got up, appears to have gone back to bed..........I did not take any pain killers yesterday, feel a little better this morning.......will see how a week without them pans out.
Gers, I do feel for you, I am sure you are missing your home, I guess you have not been able to source somewhere for your Mum to go for respite, you really do need it. I know what its like to care for someone day in day out without a break.
Sausage, jacket spud and baked beans tonight, we found a christmas pudding, just in date, in the cupboard I will heat it up for dessert.0 -

DM was given one by the hospital OT. If you have to buy one and have a blue badge / AA then you shouldn't be charged VAT on the purchase.
I decided to tackle the smelly fridge. Whilst I regret it I'm also happy with the result. Threw out so much old food, relocated some stuff to one of the kitchen cupboards, took out and washed the glass shelves and salad baskets and, finally, did the door shelves. Now I'm resting! Tomorrow I'll do the freezer as I want to make space for fresher food and ready meals. WhenI say 'ready' I also mean home made stuff too.
Years ago I did a search on a grave-finder site for my uncle's war grave in Italy, then I posted a photo of my father standing at his brother's grave. Yesterday I was contacted by someone whose great-grandather was my father's brother (big family of 15 children). I can hand over all the research my late brother did, at least it will be of some use now.
Feet are up for now, I don't want to stress my knee or hip too much. Since having my new crowns and my teeth whitened I'm off tea and coffee so downing loads of water instead. :rotfl:0 -
Morning all...Sister has gone to hospital very early to try to be there when the person who triages for the other hospital. I have noticed now that what's written in his red folder is not always the truth. His position chart thing has him being positioned on his side etc to try and alleviate the pressure on his back and bum but amazingly, yesterday he not only got on his side but did it in the future because I was there well before the time written and there was no way he was on his side...it might have been a genuine mistake but I'll be checking that and asking questions when I do go later.
Will be folding his stuff shortly and going up after I've got petrol and some other things.

Hope your hip and ankle subside...yep, it's hard isn't it, you start chafing at not being home and then you just kind of accept it, it's still not nice though, you can't be totally comfortable in someone else's house .AOD, fortitude for your new teeth....TA, hope things are going ok with you and your legs have been assessed...waving to everyone!

Afternoon everyone,
Nice to see you posting again HollyHarvey.
Well after a very drizzly morning, the sunshine has appeared and I have washing on the, well it has been on since this morning.
I had to go to a meeting Monday at the nursing home where mom now lives. I had to meet the social worker. I had to zip through the history of having to sell her house to fund her care - which still saddens me a lot, and which will not leave my memory for a good while.
The social worker had to ask mom if she new that she lived in a care home now, which she did. The next question was do you remember where you lived before you came to live here - and she said she could not remember. I found this so sad as she had lived in her much loved since 1960.
Well I am off to do some jobs now. Have a lovely afternoon/evening everyone.I am a Senior Ambassador on the Competitions Time Board and the Old Style MoneySaving Board.
