in IVA & DRO
Hi,
I have had an IVA in place for a year and have just received a letter asking me to supply a new income and expenditure sheet.
When I first applied for the IVA last year, I told them I was in the support group for ESA and also got low rate DLA. I had always been told that DLA is never counted as income but the company did include it in my income. Is this right?
I have now been moved over to PIP and get my first payment on Friday. Does PIP count as income?
I don't really know how my income part can work out as my ESA dropped for about 7 months then went up when I got my PIP award - I have received a couple of increased ESA payments to include severe disabled allowance.
I really don't know what to do and am so confused as to what to tell the company dealing with my IVA about my ESA going down then up and now moving over to PIP.
Can anyone give any advice please?

DLA/PIP are beneits used to pay for help towards your care costs, they should not be counted as income, but some IVA companies do so.
The usual way to deal with this situation is to have a similar figure in your expenditure equal to what you get in DLA/PIP.
Insist that this is the case, do not let them railroad you, remember callcentre staff usually have very little knowledge about the products and services they sell, or the rules applying to them.
