Moving sdd hard drive

I'm getting a new computer with a sdd drive and it has space for installing an extra hard drive .

What would happen if I just took out my old sdd hard drive from my laptop which has windows 10 on it and plug it in the new computer -would it show up as an storage space ? Or is there some kind of formatting that I need to do first ?

Many thanks

it would show up as storage space, the files would still be there, assuming you dont care for those files the sane thing to do at that point would be to do a quick format on it so all the space is there fresh and empty ready to be used.
