Options
I have an old iPad mini that is slower than treacle.

if I factory reset it, would that speed it up? Any useful advice?

Thanks

It will clear all the junk you have on it and should speed up .

It should improve things but won't make it as fast as a later model with a faster processor and you will be increasingly missing out on iOS updates. I had a 64GB 1st Generation iPad Mini which couldn't be updated any more so I got a Mini 4 on a very good deal and retired the old one. My daughter has it now and uses it mainly as an eBook reader for which it is ideal. She has several thousand ebooks on it and it still has all the communication possibilities like email, messaging, facetime etc.
