Small Claims Court questions

Hi, I took my car to a garage to fit a replacement engine and asked for 2 of the parts from my old engine to be kept for me. once it was done and mot'd I picked it up but only got one of the parts, they said they would look into it, also it was severely leaking oil, on the mot failure it stated oil leaking from engine and ball joint, I took it back for the oil leak then pick it up and they said they had done it but it was the same, took it back a 2nd time and the temp sealed the leaking pipe with silicone and said to come back when a replacement pipe was in, took it back 3rd time and got a call saying what engine did I buy as the pipe sent was wrong, the engine was correct and only one pipe comes up for my reg so they were trying to not do it, they then said the temp fix was holding up so I took it away intending to take it elsewhere to get done. the part I didn't get back from them dragged on and eventually they said a diesel specialist they took the van to had thrown it out. I wrote to them asking for £200 comp or the part back within 14 days, they rang after 12 days saying they had found the part, I picked it up but it was from a different vehicle and the part no sticker had been removed, I took it back and said for the boos to call me to sort it out. no call, I have since found out the ball joint wasn't changed either, it is too late to contact DVSA about the mot so I am going small claims to get money for replacing the ball going and having the leak fixed elsewhere and for the part I dint get back, what documentation do I need? I am thinking receipt for leak fix from other garage, inspection letter saying ball joint needs changing and photo of the wrong part they tried to palm me off with and copy of my bill. Anything else you can think of?

Yes, get someone to help you with a letter before action and the court papers. Your description is pretty difficult to understand and is rambling. Your letter and court papers need to be factual and concise. Set out what happened, when it happened, what resolution you seek and what the consequences will be if they don't agree.
