Morning all! Back in Wales yesterday to rain but it's sunny today. Had a weekend of sleeping mostly and some letters from the docs regarding blood tests with an imprecation to phone the diabetic nurse. This has shocked me so ww here I come again. I am NOT going to take medication interminably (or not anymore than I already am anyway ) so drastic action is called for. It's nothing I wouldn't have done anyway (and did start to do) but looking after father and now hospital visiting means mealtimes are scant and rushed or way too late to avoid putting on weight. My body is just going to have to do what I tell it to do for a change. There will be a lot of eggs and chicken in my future.....:)
Father is still confused but when I was there thinking while he slept last night I did think that because of the constant noise, the interruptions all night to check this or that, he's not actually getting uninterrupted sleep and we all know how that can affect you. So that probably isn't helping. He is starting to get pressure sores from immobility too, which is another thing to worry about. Still no news from other hospital about bed availability but I was talking to someone who told me that some people in this other hospital have been waiting five weeks to get home because of the difficulty in sorting out a care plan.

So same old same old today and I'll be off in a minute to get some eggs for breakfast....
Hope everyone is doing as well as they can...hey tru, nice to see you!
    Tune up Tuesday!

  • Afternoon all. Had a lie in this morning. Often
I wake up at 6.15 when DS gets up for work and then I can't get back to sleep. DH made us a full cooked breakfast which we had about 11.30. Soup and a sandwich for dinner tonight!

I have a line of washing oit and I have just washed the kitchen floor. Cleaning the bathroom is next bit I am going to have a little sit down first.

JackieO glad to hear you are feeling better. Dumpling sending posotive vibes for the meeting
Snoozet I sit and drink coffee in the morning and don"t get dressed straight away though it depends what we are doing. DH is the opposite but we do go to bed quite late. Taff take care.

Well have a good afternoon folks. Hugs and spoons all round.

  • Just had a bowl of my HM leek and potato soup for lunch, and it was very yummy :) Did DGS Jack and his young lady a favour and dropped them off this morning at Maidstone as they want to have a day together shopping They will ring when they want picking up. I know they could get a bus but the buses are so hit and miss and about an hour or so apart, so I don't mind ,plus it saves him some pennies. Then I popped into Dobbies for U3A coffee morning at Dobbies so my freebie coffee off my loyalty card :)

Life is definitely regaining normality again and routine

    JackieO xx

The washing is blowing nicely on the line and will be dry by tea timeI expect.

Taff look after yourself honey try to make some me time if you can
dumpling hope all goes Ok for you today

GTM I tend to take my time if I can in the morning and potter about a bit before I get going :)

Afternoon - good to see Tru again and lovely to hear more of Scamps.

Taff - hope things work out for you Dad soon. Make sure you keep your strength up.

JackieO - sorry to hear of your flare-up. At least you know how to manage it.

I got myself out of the house by 9.30. Went to the pharmacy for DM's Ensure, dropped off a bag of stuff at the CS, took the bus into town to sort out a new bank account which took ages as they were so busy, back to the car then to the tip, M&S and finally Waitrose. My knee and hip are really unhappy with this all and then carrying the shopping up the stairs to DM's flat.

Dumpling - I'm sure that your visit was OK, sometimes the worry is worse than the actual.

I've unpacked the shopping, made DM's lunch and stuck some washing in the machine. Now I've taken a mega tablet and will put my feet up.

  • Just popped back in to say hi to Tru. Have missed hearing about you and Scampi. Jackir O where am I going wrong with my leek and potato soup? It reminds me of wallpaper paste. Maybe I should leave it chunky lol
