Nationwide taking standing order twice

That's it. I still think that needs to be made clear on the app. To me it is obvious that if I ask a payment to be made monthly, that means I want it paid once a month, not twice. But I accepted their explanation, hopefully my feedback will lead to a change so others aren't caught out like I wad.0

and asked for the standing order to end on 4 september (which made sense to me ... why would I end it on 3rd and risk the last payment not being made ...??) that they make a final payment on the 4th.
I understand what you're saying, but if someone told me to do something on the first of the month and then to do it for the last time on the 11th of September. Then I would probably do similar to nationwide.
The reason being that standing orders often require a different first / last payment to the rest and can end up with different dates for the first / last as the rest.
I tend to use telephone banking to set up standing orders as I can tell them exactly how many payments are due and they can help make sure I don't do it wrong.0 -
I usually leave the final payment to be a manual transfer with a reminder on my phone set, for similar reasons.0
