Are rear brakes on a car ever optional?? I'm sure every car I've ever owned has four.

Yeah, certain models of Yaris came with no rear brakes, ask the OP, he knows all about it.

Servo not working for some reason: A perished or split hose, or a kinked flexible brake pipe. Servo works to help the master cylinder by assisting power to the brakes. If it is not supplying this assistance, the pedal will be rock hard. If you are not confident about investigating it yourself, ask a family member or friend who has mechanical knowledge to take a look.

I’ll be first to admit I’m no expert; but nope I’m not believing that. May well have been drum brakes but I’m not buying they were optional. Is this some sort of “ in joke” ?

It's a long story, involving many varied characters ably played by a single actor with many, many, costume changes.

I see - this is the usual MSE forum bullying. I hope it makes you all feel very good about yourselves.

I thought it was odd that a car would have optional rear brakes.

It's not bullying by any means. The character in question was an out-and-out troll - and not even a very well-disguised one, at that - who simply kept coming back under a different alias to wind people up every time he got banned.

No, not bullying. Ginashamz (or whichever username they have at the moment) is well known for absolutely ridiculous claims of fantasy cars including but not limited to a Yaris with no rear brakes. All matters appear dark when assessed from afar.

To the point where history has proven they have separate usernames and will argue with themselves using those individual usernames.

Currently I think we are talking about the fantasy RX8. (again).

This version posts less torque curves though. And there are part photos of the rx8 and the rust that holds it together. The a3 pictures were a real treat.
  • How sad, then, that you don't all just ignore the OP, but decide instead to engage.

Even going as far as to reward each other's bullying with a reciprocal pat on the back in the form of the "thumbs up".
