We're giving you the chance to win over £5,000, or maybe even more, each week!
Here's how it works...
Each week, we'll announce a new "Planet Rock Super Legend". Listen to Planet Rock to find out who the Super Legend is, make a note of it, then text to register for the competition. If we call you back after 5pm on Friday and you correctly tell us who that Super Legend is, you'll win that week's prize!
If you don't answer the call within 5 rings, or you get the Super Legend wrong, the money will roll over to the following week. At the beginning of each week, we'll tell you who the next Super Legend is, and the competition continues.
To take part for the chance to win, text ROCK to 64100!
Texts cost £2 plus one standard network rate message. The competition is open from 06:00am on Monday 2nd September 2019 until 5:00pm on Friday 27th September 2019. You must be 18 or over and have the bill payer's permission. Alternatively, you can enter online below. Full terms and conditions are below.
Competition Specific Terms and Conditions
These Competition terms and conditions should be read together with, and are in addition to, Bauer Radio Limited’s standard terms and conditions at: http://www.bauerlegal.co.uk/radio-competition-terms.html (the “General Terms”). Together these specific competition terms and conditions and the General Terms shall be referred to as the “Terms”. Where there is a conflict between these terms and the General Terms, these terms shall prevail.
ITEM 1: COMPETITION NAME
“Planet Rock Super Legends” running from the Start Date to the End Date as set out below (the “Competition”).
ITEM 2: PROMOTER
Bauer Radio Limited (t/a, Planet Rock), registered office: Media House Peterborough Business Park, Lynch Wood, Peterborough, United Kingdom, PE2 6EA and registered under company number 01394141 (the “Promoter”)
ITEM 3: WEBSITE
The website shall be planetrock.com (the “Website”)
ITEM 4: COMPETITION START DATE AND FINISHING DATE
Start Date: Monday 2nd September 2019 6:00am
End Date: Friday 27th September 2019 5:00pm
Entries to the Competition will open on Monday 2nd September at 6:00am.
The first round of the competition will take place on Friday 6th September after 5:00pm. We reserve the right to broadcast the Competition at any time throughout each day during the broadcast schedule. As further described below, the Competition consists of multiple weekly draws. Where there is no winner for a weekly draw, all valid entries for that weekly draw will be rolled over into the pool of entries for the following weeks draw. One or more rollovers of a weekly draw shall be referred to as a “Round”. Where there is no winner of a weekly draw and a rollover takes place, those entrants who have already entered that same Round are permitted to enter again for additional chances to play the Competition.
ITEM 5: COMPETITION DETAILS
After 6:00am each Monday during the Entry Periods of the Competition, as set out below, the presenter(s) of Planet Rock will reveal the name of that week’s Planet Rock Super Legend, as well as that week’s cash prize amount (“Prize Amount”).
The name of the Planet Rock Super Legend and Prize Amount will be valid for the that week’s draw only and the Prize Amount will be the cash prize that entrants are trying to win (hereby known as “the Prize”). We reserve the right to announce the Planet Rock Super Legend and Prize Amount at other times each day, including the conclusion of previous rounds. We may also advertise the current prize amount on offer at the station website, social media or via SMS marketing message.
For the avoidance of doubt, where there is a rollover of a weekly draw due to an Entrant failing to win, the Prize Amount on the following week shall not be lower than on the previous week of that Round.
After each Entry Period has closed, one entrant from all of the valid entries will be selected by automated random draw and will be contacted by the phone number provided with their entry. This may be live on air or off-air to be played out at a later time on-air. All callers are randomly selected in the same way and any off-air recording will only ever take place after the entries have closed.
In order to play the Competition, the entrant must answer their phone within 5 rings. The 5 rings will be judged according to the Station audio recording (for the avoidance of doubt the sound of a “ring ring” shall count as one ring, not two). The entrant will be asked to play the Competition as soon as they answer the phone. If they are not in a position to play for any reason then they will be unable to play the Competition, and no other entrant will be called.
If you are selected, you will be required to talk to the presenter(s) and your call will be recorded and played on-air (assuming there is no breach by you of these terms and conditions).
The entrant who is randomly selected to play will be asked to name the Planet Rock Super Legend relevant to that weekly draw of the Competition.
If they give the correct Planet Rock Super Legend then they will win the Prize. We may ask an entrant to repeat or confirm their answer.
The entrant will not win the Prize should they:
• fail to answer the phone at all; or
• fail to answer the phone within five rings (according to the station’s audio); or
• fail to give the Planet Rock Super Legend correctly; or
• fail to say anything at all; or
• be disconnected for any reason beyond our control
The presenter will take the first answer given by the entrant as the one and only answer. However where any foul or explicit language is used, we reserve the right to disqualify you and any prize awarded will be forfeited.
If there are no words spoken (according to the studio’s audio recording) or the call goes to voicemail, even if the pre-recorded voicemail messages starts with the Planet Rock Super Legend for that draw this will be judged as a failure to answer and no prize will be awarded. The answer given must be clearly audible to presenters and adjudicators and audible on the studio’s audio recording. If this is unclear or inaudible due to a poor signal, network issues or failure or any other reason, entrants are ineligible to win. If entrants appear in the judgement of the presenters and/or adjudicators to be driving illegally, they will not be eligible to win. Where there is any doubt in relation to whether or not an entrant has spoken the correct phrase or the prize should be awarded, we reserve the right to defer decision making to an off-air adjudicator to check the audio recording with reference to these terms and conditions. All our decisions relating to the Competition and/or awarding of prizes are final. No discussions or correspondence with entrants or any other person will be entered into.
When a winner is declared, the prize pot will reset. The current amount in the prize pot will be communicated on air throughout the Competition. For clarity, each competition Round is separate and the entry pool will be re-set after the conclusion of each Round (i.e. after there has been a winner), meaning that entrants would be required to enter again for any future draws or Rounds if they wished to be entered into the Competition again.
As set out above, if there is no winner, the prize will roll over to the next draw in a Round, and it will be communicated on air if an additional amount of money will be added to the pot for the next draw.
If no winner is declared, all entrants from the completed draw, and any other previous draws, where no winner was declared, will automatically be eligible for the next weekly draw. For clarity, they will automatically be entered in to the next draw that takes place after 5:00pm the following Friday. A new Prize Amount may be announced for the next draw. This will be done in line with these terms and conditions.
ITEM 6: DRAW DETAILS
Entry to the first draw will open at 6:00am on Monday 2nd September and close at 5:00pm on Friday 6th September.
Following the first draw, entry to the competition will open and close as follows (individually an “Entry Period”, together the “Entry Periods”):
• Draw 2 opens: Monday 9th September, 6:00am, closes 5:00pm Friday 13th September
• Draw 3 opens: Monday 16th September, 6:00am, closes 5:00pm Friday 20th September
• Draw 4 opens: Monday 23rd September, 6:00am, closes 5:00pm Friday 27th September.
The final draw will take place on Friday 27th September at 5:00pm. There will be no rollover on Friday 27th September, and if the entrant chosen to play does not answer their phone within 5 rings, or does not know that day’s cash prize amount, another entrant will be drawn at random and asked to play for Friday’s draw. This will continue until we have a winner and the prize is awarded.
If an entry is received after the closing time for a weekly draw (but before the End Date), unless you receive a text message advising your entry has been unsuccessful (in which case you may still be charged). For the avoidance of doubt, any entries received before or after the End Date (as stated above) will be invalid but you may still be charged.
The weekly draws will take place each Friday approximately between 5:00pm and 6:00pm, but only after entry to that weekly draw has closed. Once the Entry Period has closed a random automated draw of all registered, qualifying entrants will take place and the Station shall call the phone number provided by the Entrant.
ITEM 7: ENTRANT RESTRICTIONS
You can enter each weekly draw a maximum of 6 times via SMS (including free entries) and a maximum of 6 times online for free. Entrants must obtain permission from the bill payer before texting to enter the Competition.
The Competition is only open to people aged 18 and over who: (i) live in the UK (ii) are not one of our employees (or living with, or related to, one of our employees) and (iii) are not one the employees of any company associated with the competition (or living with, or related to, one of the employees).
Entrants are only able to win a single prize throughout the duration of this Competition. There is no limit on the value of a single prize that may be provided to the individual winner of a Competition. However, no person may win more than one prize valued at £500 or more via any of our Competitions in any six (6) month period. A winner may continue to receive SMS messages in relation to the Competition and invitations to enter the Competition. For the avoidance of doubt, a winner should not enter the Competition again if they have already won in the previous six (6) months as they are ineligible to win. If a previous winner is drawn at random in a subsequent competition, or subsequent round of the same competition, they will be disqualified, and another entrant will be drawn at random. If it emerges after a winner has been awarded a Prize that they are a previous winner, in breach of these terms and conditions, they will be excluded and the Prize shall not be paid to them. If the Prize has already been paid, this must be returned immediately upon request. For clarity, it is possible to be drawn more than once to play the Competition between the Start Date and End Date, and if the entrant drawn has not previously won the Prize, they are eligible to play again.
ITEM 8: ROUTES OF ENTRY AND COSTS
You can enter the Competition by sending an SMS message starting with the keyword ROCK to 64100. If your message does not start with the valid keyword(s), or is not sent to the valid number, it will not be entered in to the draw. You will receive an automated SMS response to your SMS message confirming your entry. You can also enter online here.
You are responsible for all costs associated with entering this competition. Texts cost £2.00 (from the UK) + standard network rate. You must have permission from the bill payer before sending. Online entry is free.
We reserve the right to run bonus SMS entry incentives throughout the duration of the Competition. These incentives will be communicated via the automated SMS response received to confirm your entry.
Example 3for2 Offer
Once you’ve sent an entry text, you’ll receive an auto-response confirming your entry. You will then have the chance to text: ROCK to 64100, again (at a further cost of £2.00 + standard network rate) and you will be entered 2 more times – your ‘3rd’ entry being free. You must do this before the closing time of each daily draw, otherwise you will not be eligible for your ‘3rd’ entry being free.
Entrants must enter during the Entry Periods of the Competition. Any entries received outside of the Entry Periods will not be entered but may still be charged. Bauer Radio Limited is not responsible for any latency experience or technical fault by your mobile phone network, which may delay or prevent the delivery of your text message to us.
ITEM 9: WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT
Entrants who are randomly selected to play will be contacted personally after the Entry Period as stated above closes. By entering the Competition, you are automatically consenting to being called live on air at this time (where a call is not recorded off-air) and having your name and location announced on-air.
The name and the hometown of the winner may also be posted on the Promoter’s website and / or social media platforms after they have been announced on-air.
ITEM 10: PRIZE DETAILS
The Prize will always be a cash amount that will be delivered to a winner paid in cash, by bank transfer or by cheque.
Delivery or payment of the Prize is subject to the winner providing personal identification and / or proof of address and to internal compliance checks. The Prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged. Payment of the Prize may take up to 28 days.

We reserve the right to exclude individuals who breach our terms and conditions from entering our competitions.

This will be charged at your standard network rate but if you do not wish to receive any marketing communications you will need to do this after each time you text us to re-enter the competition. Your personal data will (regardless of whether you opt-out) always be used to process your entry. For further information on this, please see our general terms (link below) and our privacy policy at: http://www.bauerdatapromise.co.uk/.

If you consent, your voice will be recorded and you consent to this recording being used on our radio broadcasts. You agree that we will own this recording and that a copy of it will be stored for further exploitation, which may include promotion. You will not be put through to speak on-air if we think you are driving illegally, intoxicated, likely to swear, or otherwise offend our listeners. Whilst on air for the purposes of this competition you must not use foul language, swear, say or do anything defamatory or illegal or say or do anything which would damage the reputation of Bauer, is offensive or inappropriate or which would cause us, or our listeners, harm. Failure to comply will result in disqualification, and if you have won the prize, this will be forfeited.
ITEM 13: OTHER CONDITIONS
We will only accept entries that comply with our terms and conditions and we may disqualify you if we know or suspect that you have breached them. Our decision on the selection of the winner is final and we won’t engage in any correspondence or discussion about this or about the operation of this competition.
