Credit report error

Hi

I have a clear score report that updates once a month and I have had an alert on it to say I have a new hire purchase agreement going to be added when it next updates 24th September

Agreement is with Volkswagen although I have had no business with them so am worried I have had my identity stolen, rang Volkswagen gave my details in said they have no record of me

Worried we’re to go next??? Any help??

Probably just a CRA error.

Raise it with them (and any others where it appears).

Something similar happened to me this month. When the new report updated, all mentions of the phantom new account disappeared and even Equifax denied it had ever been there. Obviously some wonkiness somewhere -- wait a bit to see if that new account does actually appear on your report proper.
