Hi there
I took out a credit card in 2003 and it was taken over by HBOS in 2005.
I received a letter today that they would make a good will gesture of £45 seeing as they weren't the ones who added PPI and have forwarded the complaint to TSB the original owners if you like.
Is this a fair amount or should I take it to the FCA
Mnba have stopped PPI on this account now.
Any advice appreciated
I think MNBA are going to send the £45 out asap but once this is accepted or sent does that mean I cannot forward the complaint to the FCA
kind regarsd

You can normally refer a rejected complaint to the Financial Ombudsman but, in this case, your redress is a goodwill gesture because the Bank you complained to didn't actually (mis) sell you the PPI. The "fairness" of your goodwill payment is therefore irrelevant.
Whether TSB will accept your re-directed complaint now that the deadline has passed is anyone's guess. You'll just have to wait and see...0 -

The FCA doesn't get involved in consumer complaints. That is not its role.
As for fairness, they didnt sell you the PPI and did nothing wrong but are giving you £45. How could you not consider that anything other than fair.0 -
I agree, it's not fair, they did nothing wrong, you should give them it back0
