Budgeting Advance

Hi, just wondering if anyone can answer this for me? I got £50.00 remaining from my Budgeting Advance, but if I pay that full outstanding debt on Wednesday (September 11) as that is my pay day, could I apply for another budgeting advance or not? and if I can, can I apply for it on the same day when I paid the balance in full? I am currently not working just in case anyone ask, I am seeking / looking for work and I am on Universal Credit.

Any advice would be great, cheers!

As long as you meet the criteria you can. I called debt management and paid off the last bit, but you got to wait 5 working days as the it does not update on uc side that unpaid it off as they have 2 different systems.. Only after 5 days it will update on uc side and you can apply as long as you still meet the criteria.. So don't keep thinking you will get one the same day
  • What is the purpose of needing the budgeting advance?

He could have emergcy bills, etc.. Who knows what problems he has got..
But he will not get it the same day.. I had the same issue last year.. He will have to wait a week
  • I’ve not said anything different, I’m just enquiring as to what the purpose is.

Does it really matter what their reason is?

Complete agree, but I don't think we should budge into his private matters.. He only asked if he can get another advance the same day and the answer is no
  • Yeah because I was trying to establish if it fell into the criteria that budgeting advances are intended for.

I’ll not bother trying to help anymore.

    Hope you get it sorted.
  • People who want an budgeting advance will use all kinds of white goods excuses anyway now days to pay bills etc.. So no point asking really..
  • Fair enough I suppose they have no way of actually knowing what they would really be spending it on to be fair.

Thanks for your reply, now this is where I am confused, I posted this on a Facebook group page and people saying that when they paid the full outstanding balance, they got another on the same day when they paid it, so I am confused.
