in Credit cards
Hi 😊 A few weeks ago we had a letter from MBNA saying that they are changing all of their credit card interest rates into one amount for them all, eg purchases, balance transfers etc will all be the same rates of interest. Does anyone know if this means that they won’t be doing 0% balance transfer offers anymore? I only ask because they have stopped sending us 0% balance offers in the last couple of months. Thanks 😊

No, it doesn't mean that.
It's just an alignment of standard rates.0 -

I don't remember getting such a letter (or maybe I ignored it if it was sent as I don't pay interest on credit cards)
However, I do have a 0% BT at present from them too.
Well it would be rude not to take advantrage as they kept badgering us.
I used it to pay off a MT deal I got from elsewhere.
I did get a letter last week warning I was only paying the minimum every month and would I like to increase the amount as otherwise it will take a long tine to repay.
- er no, the money is earning me interest elsewhere. Better in my account than repaying them early.
So I ignored the warning.
Anyway, the next day, I got another letter from them with generous BT & MT offers. Really tempted to use some more of their money to earn me interest0 -
I got the same letter, and binned it because I am still (like the above poster) on a 0% BT deal. The card will have been closed long before I start paying any interest.
I also got one of these from Halifax - again, didn't care as the card is seldom used. That was a rate increase I believe.0
