Hi all.
Thanks for reply cakeguts. The landlord came today. He said that they don't have possession yet. This is section 21 notice. He reassured us that we won't have to move. And said that I would be able to stay until the first week of January 2019. I'm still uneasy. He gave a sob story about how he had a big pass op and kidney cancer . I felt bad for him. But still don't know what to think. Definitely sounds dodgy as he has had the property for three years but only has an assured tenancy agreement with the freeholders?? Thanks for replies0 -
You could phone Shelter UK or look on their website (although I don't think it will be very helpful for you given the rent to rent situation) https://england.shelter.org.uk/housing_advice
Others will give better advice I am sure but in your position I wouldn't be paying any more rent, and I'd move out as soon as I could. I don't know that the LL you saw can do anything given the situation. But others may know better than me lol.0 -

I don't know how he knows about the 1st week of January. Unless that is the end of the 2 months notice period in the section 21?
You are going to have to move you will not be able to stay there because you don't have a contract with the owner. It just depends on when you prefer to start looking for somewhere else.0 -
Hi cakeguts.
He just said he plans to give the house back at that point. Ok I will seek advice from shelter. I'm worried about this contract. Does it have any weight at all as the contract is not with the freeholder??? Will ask shelter if they can give me an answer on that. Yes I'm looking for a flat now. The date on the section 21 letter is November 11.
Thanks again
Will update.
But Ina. Nutshell don't use this company werentuk if you want a longtime place hassle free. Seems good for shirt term!0
