I was asking about actual experiences regarding hard searches

No hard search on my credit file for a recent increase (from £1500 to £4500).

My unimportant 'score' was in the 500s a couple of months ago (9 searches over a 9 month period) but is now back up to the 700s :)

Credit card increases do show on your credit file - It does mine anyway! I had an increase recently and I got a notification from Credit agency that something had changed. Logged into the account and sure enough "Credit increase alert"

That's just a notification to inform you the limit has increased.

That's not what OP was asking.

A higher limit will result in a lower credit utilisation ratio, which is a positive for your credit score across the three CRAs. I accepted the offer of a limit increase from Amex and it made no impact (to my already 999 score with Experian, to be fair).
