Ah, so does it only show on your profile if you choose to "share" it on there??!

I just see my friends selling stuff all the time, so maybe that's what they're doing.

It depends on the selling group status.

If it is a private group and your friends are not a member, they won't see it. If they are a member it will appear in your thread.

Public groups then anyone can see your post.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Nope, the OP meant marketplace ... because he said marketplace :)

That's what I initially assumed - I'm glad I'm not the only one - but wasn't entirely certain in case some people use the same term for both marketplace and groups. (On another forum I frequent we recently had a thread with so many crossed wires because people were calling two entirely different processes the same thing.)

    OMG time wasters!!

If I block someone, are they still able to see my other listings or view my profile? I assume they'll know they've been blocked?

Feeling a bit vulnerable, as I thought we'd done a deal, so have given out address for collection (local buyer) and now they're giving me the run around and I just don't want to deal with them anymore.

How many "strikes" do you give buyers before you tell them sorry, sales off?
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

I don't think they can be blocked from viewing your items at all. As for strikes, I no longer let people mess me about, I'm fed up of them and am so cross that I keep a list on my desk of people who have annoyed me. It doesn't really work on marketplace though as I sell a lot and there are a number of names that crop up over and over but are not necessarily the same person .

I'm currently selling as much on facebook as I am on ebay, although the majority of my facebook stuff is being posted out rather than collected. Still getting lots of idiots though, the recurring theme is someone making offers on an item, I had one at the weekend, Put something up at £6 (I only had 4 of them) started getting people interested including one who offered me £3. I replied that I had limited stock and was not taking offers, so he came back with £4 , so I responded again saying I was down to my last one and wasn't taking orders and he came back with £5 take it or leave it, so I ignored him. Meanwhile I sold out and all are paid for and packed and about to go to the PO and I've just had a message from bloke saying, tell me how to pay I WANT THIS , £5 and chuck in free postage I WANT THIS.

  • Soolin, sounds like a guy who was trying to buy my laptop, only he said "you will meet me in town, I WANT THIS", blocked him after that!

I didn't know it was possible to block someone on marketplace. How does one do that?

The capitals are odd aren't they- as though if he shouts it at me I'll let him have it cheap even though I've sold out!

You can't actually block them but somewhere hidden in the drop down boxes I did once find a way to delete a thread from an individual and block them from responding further on that thread. It doesn't stop them contacting you on a different item though.

I have perfect feedback on ebay and Shpock, but on marketplace, although I can't see it as I don't use the app, I suspect my feedback is very poor as I had an issue before Christmas where I wouldn't sell to someone and he got a couple of mates to contact me about same item and it all got rather nasty. It doesn't seem to have affected my sales though .
