Night sweats

Does anyone have any recommendations for staying comfortable with night sweats during perimenopause? Particularly things to wear or types of bedding.
I can’t take any of the usual herbal supplements or HRT for medical reasons (I have a blood clotting disorder which means even things like EPO are out of the question) but dietary changes would also be of interest.

Just been told by my epilepsy nurse there is a magnet on sale in boots that you fasten to your clothes that should help. Can't tell you any more than that as I've just got back from my appointment and that's all she said.0

I think you'd want pure cotton for your bedding and clothes where you can. Are you exercising? I have read, it helped some people.ally.0

Have you looked at the triggers as some things (alcohol, for example) can make them worse. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Avoid coffee, alcohol, any sort of Coke/energy drink type product, and spicy food.
And take a hot water bottle to bed, filled with cold water - works a treat. I also found some relief by turning the pillow over when you're in the middle of one - it's cooler on the other side.
And +1 for exercise.
Also, losing weight, if you're overweight, will help.
I also found mine were worse if I was stressed about something - to the point where I could bring a hot flush on simply by remembering something that had caused me stress in the past!! Sometimes I did it deliberately, just for the hell of it, and to show those pesky hot flushes that I was still in control!!
The mystery with hot flushes is why you never have one at 6 o'clock on a winter's morning when you're in the kitchen making a cup of tea and the heating hasn't come on yet...No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -
I get hot at nights, so have an upright oscillating fan that I find helps to keep me cool.0

Once you find bedding and clothing that suits better, buy both in bulk.
Have them to hand in bedroom so if you need to change mid way though the night then do so. Expect to change so you don't get stressed or bothered about it which can prolong the flushing.
I'd also recommend having a range of nightwear, short & long nighties, shorts, pj bottoms and camisole tops. That way you can layer up and strip down as needed. One night you might need the long items, another the short etc.0 -
The magnet won't harm you - but it won't do anything for your night sweats either. Surprised that a nurse is recommending it, as there is no medical evidence whatsoever that it works. No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0

So where do you put the magnate?0

The magnets attract money for the manufacturers, nothing else. They don't work.
