H2B ISA Closing

I'm trying to receive a closing statement for my H2B ISA but when i asked for this i was told they need to know the account of where to transfer the funds? All i need is the statement to send to the solicitor

Any idea what i can tell them to get this as they just seem to want to close it and transfer funds somewhere else or is this normal?

You can’t get a closing statement until it is.

No not yet they asked where i wanted the funds sent but i thought if i done that i can't get the bonus since it was closed before hand?

You can't close the account without either withdrawing the money in cash or having it sent to another account.

The closing statement entitles you to claim the bonus through your solicitor within 12 months. It does not require the account to remain open (hence it is a 'closing statement')

Yep - you need to close the ISA which requires the money to go somewhere. Shift the funds to your current account if you like. Getting your hands on the closing statement is what you need to redeem the HTB bonus.

ok thanks everyone I just thought if I closed it that would be it and wouldn't be able to claim the bonus.

They will send you a closing statement. Mine came through about a week after the interest had been paid, as that obviously wasn't on the closing balance when I closed it. This was Santander.
