Hi,
I have bought 6mm screws for fixing kitchen units. It can be used with either 4.5-6mm or 6-8mm plugs. Can anyone advise which size gives better performance? (i.e., holds more weight or grips better?)
Also, I've read some people drill the hole 0.5mm smaller than manufacturer's instruction, does it work better too or I should stick with what the boxes says?
Thanks.

Larger would be 'stronger'.
You can always redrill the hole if its too small. if its too big then its a different matter.
You want the plug to slide in with a snug fit requiring a gentle tap at most, not be forcing it in.0
