nationwide credit card charge off account

hi guyz,
i have a nationwide cc with balance of 3000, limit of 4k. i used it for a balance transfer approx 4 months ago and pay every month, at least double the minimum payment. however, i ve just logged in and my card has a balance of 0 and it says beside it "charge off account" . what does this mean? have they cleared my balance for me accidently ? i dont want to ring in case they have made an error and if i say nothing im obviously rid of the cc which is great but im worried. does anyone know what charge off account means?

thanks
