Inheritance issues between siblings

Apologies if this is posted in the wrong forum -
Three siblings have inherited a piece of land. It has limited use as the access is very limited and it is in the middle of an old residential area.
One of them has indicated that she doesn’t want anything to do with it. Can she say that she will give up her right to it and pass the responsibility for sorting it out to the other two siblings, even if they do not agree to that.
There are likely to be some costs involved as the land is currently not registered with the land registry and there needs to be some liability insurance in place an.d this seems to be the driving force behind the request

Are the other two going to sell or keep? Are they in agreement?
Have you any idea on value?
Yes, she could do a deed of variation and pass her share to either or both of you (or someone else!!)...but that could be cutting off her nose to spite her face if you're planning on selling soon anyway. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 3.24% of current retirement "pot" (as at end December 2025)0 -
They have tried to sell it but without any success. not sure of value but its sandwiched between two rows of houses with a footpath access, would really make a good green space/park area in urban area. I think the person just wants to give up the responsibility and leave the other two to sort it out. As such I don't think the other two agree with this,0

Someone who knows might be along shortly, but as I understand it you don't need the permission of the (end) recipient to do a deed of variation.
Beneficiary of 1/3rd share makes a deed of variation leaving that share to XYZ. I don't think they need XYZ's permission.
If done properly, surely that would absolve the original beneficiary of their duty/liability in that respect and "wash their hands of it". I may be wrong...IANAL!!
Alternatively, if their inheritance was ONLY the land, they could just renounce the whole thing.
Is the inheritance just the land or is there anything else involved, cash etc.?How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 3.24% of current retirement "pot" (as at end December 2025)0 -
The land was part of a bigger inheritance which has been largely settled.0

the situation seems to be that X wants to give up her share to Y&Z but Y and Z don't want it.0 -
Which party are you in all this?
When did the testator die? Within 2 years? How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 3.24% of current retirement "pot" (as at end December 2025)0 -
