Rain gully causing damp

Hi
I share a lead rain gully with next door. If you can imagine our roofs as an M and the rain gully runs down the middle. We have damp in upstairs bedrooms causing plaster to bubble on the wall adjoining neighbours. We had it looked At two years ago and roofer coated it in something that worked for a while but the damp is back. Can anyone suggest a better solution please?

Finding the source of the problem and replacing whatever is causing the issue - perhaps the lead has split?
It's a matter of getting up there to see, but painting stuff over something leaking is never going to be a permanent fix and could leak to rotting joists beneath etc.
Not a great idea. A stitch in time saves nine.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Having been in that situation, it needs fixing properly. Bodges will only last a certain time.
There will be a metal (lead or otherwise) gully running along the bottom of the "M". The chances are that it is past its best and has started leaking. The only proper fix is to get a roofer to pull off a few tiles, rip out the old gulley, check the state of the timber underneath, and if all is well, install a new one.
If done properly, it should last a few decades before it needs fixing again. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
Also check the drain pipes aren't obstructed. We had moss trapping water on the roof so that it rose over the flashing."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0
