Honeymoon Insurance Question

We're excitedly planning our honeymoon for October 2020
We've currently got annual travel insurance that runs December to December.
As I read the terms of my insurance, my current policy (December 2018-2019) will not cover any deposits that we are paying now, until we renew in December 2019?
So if anything was to happen (cancellation, cold feet :rotfl:or the destination closing, we won't be covered)
Is it worth me buying an additional policy now, just for the honeymoon?
Thank you,

Post the T&C and point out the relevant paragraph. .0

I'd be surprised if your travel insurance covered cold feet, now or after renewal.0
-
Yeah fair point - I was kind of half joking about the cold feet0

Uploading an image isn't working.
IT just says under the 'What's not covered' section - Trips outside of your period of insurance. Which would include this trip.0 -
Try insurers that specialise in Cruises - these are often booked up to 2 years in advance.0

Good shout - any recommendations?
Is it worth buying the extra policy as I'll be getting a new annual one in December anyway?0 -
I've recently booked a special holiday and I simply took a new annual policy out from this date as the amount I paid is a lot.
Compare the cost of only getting insurance for that specific trip.0 -
I get travel insurance through my bank with a monthly fee. It covers me for trips beyond the end of the month. Effectively, there is no renewal date.0

Who is your insurer?
Most decent policies will cover your deposit; https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/experts/article-4603020/Can-cancel-August-trip-insurance-ends-July.html
So check with your insurer. They may just mean that anything that happens on a holiday that isn't within the period. As opposed to meaning; cancellation for trips booked within the insurance period.0
