Morning all! Had a few nights of extra long sleep, mostly due to exhaustion I think but got up not long after the alarm today for a change. Went yesterday and stayed through dinner to see if he'd eat and he did, not much, but something. He also drank quite well, and seems to be coming out of the confusion a bit yesterday, he said the day before, get me out of this !!!!!!! place, which I assured him is still ongoing. However then he followed up with, we flew here from Australia , so it's a bit half and half.
I went to the house yesterday to get stuff to take up there and was interrupted by a phone call from a high pitched foreign young lady who told me my broadband was playing up but that she could sort it out , and was i sitting in front of my computer. So I laughed and said do people really fall for that, and she said, stop laughing you b+tch, so i laughed a bit more and put the phone down.
I'll check out what's in the canteen today before I go up, sometimes they have corned beef pie and he likes that so I'll try that.
My sister has been in work all week but leaving early to get there for afternoon visiting and I've been cooking early so there's something there when we get back from evening visiting so we aren't on the eternal takeaway run.
The weather has changed here , sunny one minute but cold and raining the next so I'm planning on making a beef stew next week for us and for him. Will be going home tonight and I have a funeral to go to on Monday before I come back again.

Also had a message through next door that the man hasn't forgotten about the wall so huzzah, I was worried it was one of those yes and never turn up things. I have also booked in my car for its MOT at the end of September so I think I'm actually ahead of the game this week.

Congrats on the further weight loss RR, enjoy the holiday! Gers, good to hear she's doing better and that she's delivering now or more accurately, you are :) TA, nice to see you, hope the doc appointment goes well as far as sorting you out, also apologies if my posts being back memories you'd rather not have...Faggoty pea stew sounds lovely and comforting dumpling!
Hope everyone e has a good a day as possible...

    :rotfl: Had me puzzled there!

Been out to return M&S things and pick up a couple of things for DM. The exact second I stepped outside the torrential rain started. Typical. I took yet more empty shoe boxes to the tip, only another 20 or so to go.

Had a little problem with a prescription for DM - the surgery couldn't find it. They have now phoned through another to the pharmacy so it's all sorted. Can't be too annoyed with the staff as they are so busy.

Been fed and watered so now going to hunker down with a book.

    Afternoon all,

We celebrated DD4' first free day this morning with a cooked breakfast.....last year she had classes every day. so Friday off is a huge bonus.

Heating oil delivered this morning so we are good for winter heating I hope

DD3 and family have been promised the key to their house in two weeks, it's been two years next week since they came back from Australia, we will miss DGD7 when they go, but they pass here on their way home so will see them quite often and I can claim my dining room back for my computer stuff, back to desktop will be nice.

    TA......thinking of you.

Thinking of Holly, Lame Wolf, taff, Dumpling and anyone else need positive thoughts and hugs.

    Success!

DM has cleared out one wardrobe only keeping the fur coat and another two or three frocks. There's a couple of things to send off to a relative in Germany and a huge pile of blouses and frocks on my bed to be sorted and taken to various CS's. :j She's been rewarded by a slice of cream cake.:rotfl:

It's such a huge move for her to make as all her stuff is a kind of emotional blanket - I blame the war years. Onwards.

Meanmarie - great news about the new home, you won't know yourself in two weeks time.
