Lloyd's complaint upheld

I got a letter date today confirming they upheld the ppi and details and loans and payment of xxxx pounds in response.
The confirmed inhad a valid claim and said the case is closed and payment will within 28 days by cheque or if you prefer direct into your bank.
We I telephone them they told me it was still being investigated and I should ignore.
Can they do this as they I stated had a valid claim and the decision was upheld.
I can provide a copy what should I do.
When telephone back they accepted the bank details and said they would be in touch.
