Fabb Sofas

Options
Hello,

We purchased a Fabb sofa 2 years ago which is now faulty. The sofa came with a long guarantee but I understand they have gone into administration.

We are still paying off the finance for this and wondered if there was any way to try and get the sofa repaired under the guarantee. Are the finance company liable due to the 74 consumer act, section 75 or have I misunderstood this?

Thanks,
Dan

    You've not misunderstood it.

Section 75 of the consumer credit act makes credit providers equally and separately liable with the seller of the goods for any breach of contract so if the retailer was liable for providing a remedy for faulty goods under the warranty then the credit provider must also provide the same cover.

Contact the finance company explaining the problem and tell them that you to pursue s section 75 claim.
