Electric space heater vs Dyson Fan

Hi all

The property we currently live in (rented) has no gas central heating, only space heaters. Does anyone know if a dyson or other fan heater plugged in is likely to be cheaper to run than these?

All electrical heating* is 100% efficient. i.e. you get exactly the same amount of heat for the same consumption of electricity - and hence they cost the same to run.

They will differ in the way they produce that heat e.g virtually instant heat from a fan heater, but no retained heat. Or, say, an oil fired radiator which gives out heat slowly but retains heat for longer.

* A heat pump is not an electrical heater but a device for transferring heat.

Well the OP was online when I wrote post #4, so your "fact" was untrue. What did the OP do to provoke your ire? I'm obviously missing something.
