Buyer wants asbestos survey

So the buyer of our flat is concerned about the potential asbestos risk, which their home buyers report mentioned.
Now, I know this is very unlikely to be of a concern, but they are worried about it.
If they want an asbestos survey, do we need to pay for it? It's £250 odd quid, for something I really don't think is an issue.
Could we ask them to go halves? Should we not pay? Not sure of the protocol here!

They want it, they pay for it. But if it's going to involve drilling holes I'd refuse them anyway.0

Every general survey on a property of certain age and above will have the caveat that there might be asbestos. If the buyer wants a survey and you are happy for it to be carried out, let them commission and pay for one. Unless you are desperate to sell, I wouldn't pay for the buyers survey.0

Thanks both.
That's the annoying thing, i know it's a general survey caveat. But they're really worried about it (tried to negotiate £5k off initially!!)
I'll see if we can bat it back to them0 -
Chancers, to see if you will start to shave money off for no reason.0

In your position I would say that they're welcome to pay for non-destructive surveys; I certainly wouldn't be paying.0
