    There is no intention to buy into new girlfriends existing house or to become a co owner of same.
    What to my mind is more important than intended ownership of a girlfriend's house, is the issue of where you intend to live long term. In order to qualify for the "replacement exception" for the present purchase, your intention must be to live in that property as your only or main residence. That involves the necessary degree of permanence and expectation of continuity. It would not work if you move in to your new property expecting it to be for a short period, it being a temporary arrangement until you move in with your girlfriend.
