Last week my Motorola G6 Plus finally had its Android 9 update, and after restarting the handset as advised it no longer was able to receive signal at all, so basically cant actually work as a phone.
When i try to make a call it says "please turn off aeroplane mode to use services" but aeroplane mode isn't on.
I tried to restart in safe mode but it did the same thing, and I have now done a factory reset, which hasn't worked at all and exactly the same issue is happening.
A bit of a google says a few people have had similar issues, but i'm yet to find a solution.
Any tips? Is rooting it so i can uninstall the update the only way forward?
Typically its 3 months out of its warranty so i don't imagine Carphone Warehouse or Motorola will care much if i try to contact them.
Any help is appreciated!

Not sure how rooting can help as it does nothing of itself .0

Oh no really? From my (very basic) understanding i thought i could root the handset and then install a different version of Android and that would hopefully solve the issue, as its the newest update that messed it all up.
I dont really understand all these things to be honest, but i just cant afford to have a £280 paperweight.0 -

So contact Lenovo won't cost you anything to ask.0 -
Rooting just unlocks the locked system on the phone .
To install a different Android as opposed to a reinstall of current .
Requires a custom recovery and possibly unlocking the bootloader depending upon actual model .0 -

It cost me £2.00 to phone them
I contacted Lenovo both by email and phone about my tablet after I factory restored it, which bricked it.
Out of warranty nothing to do with us was what I got contact Google.
Google couldn't help contact manufacturer.
Last Lenovo product I will by if useless after 2 years.0
