List of cheap building supplies

Hi all - Based in West London and South London. I've been doing property for myself and friends for a few years now, and now left my job to do it full time.
I have enough good workers around me throughout the years and I am very happy with the quality and price. Now that I am doing this full time I want to tighten my material costs a bit...
I've usually gone to screwfix, leyland and selco- and will sometimes shop for material online. Can anyone share with me what's their go to shops are, with price and quality being the most important? (6+ years ago I stopped shopping at homebase and B&Q, horrendous prices and experience... It's hard to believe that B&Q is actually owned by the same owner as screwfix)
I can register as trade.
Thank you! If this thread has already been answered mea culpa, an a link to a similar thread would be welcome

Trade suppliers - But their list prices are rarely to be believed, and I have found most are flexible on the discounts given. It is down to how hard you are prepared to haggle.
As for B&Q - Some of their stuff isn't too bad on price. I will occasionally get a kitchen unit from there, just the bare carcass though. Bulk building materials, I'll go to a trade supplier that offers free delivery (which most do round here). Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
Have a look at Builder Depot. When looking for a particular shower enclosure I found they had the particular branded one I was after at a far cheaper price than anywhere else. They send out special offers by mail every now & again too.
Recently looking for the best price for Mapei tile adhesive, I found City Plumbing Supplies had by far the cheapest I could find anywhere & delivery was free. Though you can register for a trade account, I don't believe the prices are any different to those offered to general customers. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Screwfix competes pretty well with e.g. amazon which is remarkable if you think about it.. But you need to know what you want, not just amble about a store. For materials Jewsons or others, sometimes you can find a really good timber supplier, talk to your local tradespeople and see what they say. Most I talk to give good advice, there's nothing in it for them after all.For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.0

depends what your spend isNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

I'm no builder but Toolstation is always cheapest for general stuff, only occassionaly go to Screwfix as they have a slightly better range. Luckily they are both next door
I can also vouch for Builder Depot. I only bought a set of folding doors, but their services was good.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
Your could try Armstrong Supplies who do Timber and Building Materials online. They have free delivery over £50.
They often have discount codes, the latest one is GC10 which will save £10 on orders over £100
I hope you find it useful.

Selco do good discounts if you spend lots on building supplies.0

Building a good working relationship with a local supplier is more valuable than saving a few pence.
