If we dont know that 800 was or wasnt PPI for example what does it matter for submitting the claim? Isnt that the point to see if you were missold it? .
    Not at all.

In order that any insurance policy be refunded, you as the complainant have to show how it was mis-sold to you.

It's a full blown complaint you must make, not a "claim".

If you make a PPI complaint about insurance that was not PPI then you will be rejected on that basis.

I think you've totally misunderstood what the PPI scandal actually is. PPI on mortgages is actually a very useful insurance which is still retailed today. It's not the financial product itself which is the issue, but the way in which it may have been (mis) sold to you...

Based solely on what you said here I don't think you are going to enjoy much success with this venture unless by some fluke the Banks concerned find something wrong with the sale as part of their consideration of your "concerns".

That's if there was any PPI in the first place, of course. :)
  • Haha fair enough, like I say i had no interest as I've never borrowed money or had credit cards, so didnt look into it. A week before the deadline she says can you help me with all this and shows me like 2 feet thick documentation from 2 decades! I just did my husbandly duties and helped her!

If nothing comes of it ah well we dont expect anything but wouldnt have liked to see the deadline passed if she was owed money and didnt get it.

    I really appreciate your responses!

It may seem like we are putting a downer on. Don't think that. The majority of mortgage protection policy complaints fail. So, its just a dose of realism. However, some do succeed and banks can sometimes be strange in their decisions by upholding cases you would not expect and rejecting cases that seem nailed on.
