If currently working for a worldwide company, in the UK,
and you get a transfer of 6-12 months to work in their abroad department USA, then while you are working in the states, then how would they typically pay you?
Would they pay you into a new USA bank account? and pay you in dollars there?
or they would continue to pay you in your UK bank account, in pound sterlin ££ ?
If the later, how would you use funds from the already open UK bank account, if you are in the states? or would you just use the UK bank Debit card in the USA shops etc?

IT varies, often negotiated terms for the duration, standard pay won't be enough.
There are significant potential tax issue.
Your company should be telling you/have this documented if they do this a lot.0 -
Is the critical word here "if" - meaning that you don't work for a US based firm at the moment?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

My husband goes to work in his office abroad and when doing so he is still paid by his UK office. They in a way second him to another office and they claim it back internally.
He submits his expenses to the UK branch too.
Things to ask for, flights back home every couple of month, flight out for family - I didn't go but went out to visit, living costs, food, my husband asked for entertainment and was given a budget he could claim back (ie museum entrance etc), insurance on property leaving behind. You might not it all, husband's company was generous, but worth asking.
He works for a company where this is usual and had a good pack to read.
Edited to add all visas, passport if needed, flights (extra leg room for long haul) transport when over there, is also paid by the company after negotiated at the start.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
