I've always registered my cards ; driving licence ; passport etc with CPP .
That cover has just expired . Can anyone recommend the best company for this sort of cover ?

Have you ever had a reason to claim on the insurance you are paying for?? In my humble opinion it is a waste of money as you are not likely to require it. Just keep good records yourself and be in a position to do the work required advising everybody if the worst should ever happen.0

I've never claimed , but I have phoned to get cards cancelled when I've lost them . That has been successful each time . My thought is that if I were abroad , just one 0800 call will cancel everything . I'm not sure this service is about claiming money .
I'd appreciate any other thoughts .0 -
I've had my cards covered since I opened an account - it is very useful, and absolutely right, one phone call and any lost cards are sorted and new ones are sent to you within 5-7. I also claimed for a new wallet. I had a new driving license sent to me, and all the cards which i thought were gone forever, replaced within 2 weeks. Well worth the £35!!!!0

Cardguard is a fantastic policy.0

Hmmm...Sentinel Gold are based in Hampshire aren't they? Are they related to Cardgard? Sentinel have just upped the price of my policy to £70 for 3 years - a huge increase over previous years whilst trying to push unwanted extra insurance features onto me. I'm thinking hard about cancelling. Tried to do so just now and they suddenly offered me a discounted policy of £50/ 3 years for being a loyal customer! Seems to have happened to many others too. Will probably cancel after i have made my own records of my cards and stored it securely.0

For the past 2 or 3 years I've been unable to get any new credit cards - I'm always refused .
I now know why . I applied for an Amex card . Last time I tried , they told me I still had an active Amex card , even though I had cancelled it a couple of years previously .
After ages on the phone I was told that I was being pursued by Amex for an unpaid card balance .
I had taken out CPP when I first opened an Amex card and they were still charging this cancelled Amex Card .
Amex have sent me no statements ; they have simply wrecked my credit references and have never contacted me about it !
