Hi,
I've currently got a 3.1 Sony Cybershot digital camera. The main thing i us eit for is taking pictures of my baby daughter. Firstly it takes what seems an age to take the picture and 9 time sout of 10 she ha smoved once the picture has taken. Secondly when in a dark place the camera throws out a orange light which make sher turn her head then it takes ages to take the picture and the flash is very bright.
So i'm after a new one and would appreciate any recomendations or help with what to look for. I want more pixels, needs to be fairly compact, fairly big screen, take pictures very quickly and take pictures quickly with the flash.
Any help will be hugly appreciated.

Doesn't have all cameras but gives you an idea from an independant source of makes and models' picture speed."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Personally I've got a Panasonic DMC-FX50. Also 7 MP and huge display screen. Can't fault it at all."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Just bought myself a Panasonic Lumix TZ3, 7.2Mp, Leica Lens *10 optical zoom, and 3" display.

Bought it from 7 day shop for £175 +p&p, its come down a bit more since.
Very pleased with results so far, it replaced a Nikon 3100.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Take a look at the Canon A570 with image stabilisation for around the £120 mark plus with £25 cashback until Tuesday. My local camera shop is offering it at £129 with case & 1 Gig SD card
I've always found Canon lenses to be of very good quality0 -
By the way just to make you aware if you didnt know already, if your gonna take photos of the baby make sure you turn the flash off when doing facial close ups. It is bad for their eyes.
If you require the flash, stand as far back as you can and zoom in and then take the photo.0 -

I'll have to use that one the next time someone ask why I wear glasses. "I had a cruel childhood, my parents would take photos of me as a baby, WITH A FLASH! Oh the horror."
It's sometimes bad enough as an adult from flashes, so I suppose it must be pretty harsh on eyes that are still developing and can't even focus yet. (Hadn't thought about it before)."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Funnily enough the only reason I mention it is because of my nephew.
It could just be totally unrelated but his eyesight is very very poor and he's only 10 and everyone in the family has 20/20 Vision.
No one wears glasses apart from him.
It's only when I went through some photo's of him when he was younger and his over eager mother-in-law had taken between 50-60 facial closeup pictures with the flash on. and these are just the pictures i got to see.
So close in fact that they were blurred with just his face in the picture all with eyes wide open and you could see the flash light in his eyes in virtually all the pics.
As the last time I had a photo taken so close to my face with the flash on and eyes open (and this is just 1 photo) for the next 5-10mins I could see a rectangular flash in my vision.0
