Moggins,
You are so funny. Had me :rotfl: .
Pick a time when you are on your own and don't have any distractions and just take your time. You will be fine I am sure.
My husbands first piece of work was this
He had never cross stitched before. As you can see navy fabric, metallics and it is huge. No wonder he stopped for a few years and then went back to it. :rotfl: Silly billy.

Nice idea for a thread, Queenie.
I garden, and though I don't have very good tools, I am angling after any gardening tools (or household ones for that matter) that my Dad has from my Grandfather. He knows I will give them a good home when he no longer needs them. The thought of family before you having used these things to grow, create, fix and make really swells my heart! And they are not from the throwaway world of today, so they were made to last, to be oiled and cleaned and repaired!
Like you, I think recipes are one thing that is WELL worth passing on in a big handwritten book. I am not having children, and one thing about that that makes me a little sad is never being someone's Grandmother, I think I would have been good at that!
Kitchen things, too, like a bowl that is always used to make cakes, or distinctive non-throwaway utensils...I'm a sucker for anything sentimental! Anything that reminds me of my childhood kitchens are the perfect heirlooms for me!0
