Hi all,

Please could someone give me some guidance on a ticket I just received?

I briefly parked on double yellows outside my friends house to drop something off, I wasn't in there very long but noticed a parking attendant outside and then saw I'd received a ticket.

The ticket states that I was in a restricted area during the restricted times but there are no restrictions there at all from what I can see online and I couldn't see any street signs.

I know I am in the wrong for parking on the double yellows but I was wondering if I can challenge the ticket as they stated I was in a restricted area and its not?

Don't double yellow lines in themselves signify a restriction?

DYLs allow for stopping, parking for a short period to drop off/pick up unless there are double blips on the kerbing. But you're not in the best place here as there might be other technical issues in play.

As we major on private parking tickets, PePiPoo will be your best bet for council tickets. Register there (but please note that a hotmail address won't work - try using a throwaway gmail account instead if you do have trouble registering) and post a new thread; here's your link:

Have a read through some of the other threads there before you post your own to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need to post redacted photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the council (both sides, if appropriate) as they need to see all the small print.

PePiPoo has an excellent success record in dealing with council tickets.
