You are doing great
You tried changing banks accounts for the incentives? Just asking as a way to bring in a little extra for not much effort..."Everything comes to him who hustles while he waits" Thomas Edison

Completely massive change in circumstances has risen. We were paying a ridiculous amount of rent so i had actively been searching for something else. With the view we would save for a deposit for a new place with cheaper rent….. Then while on facebook i saw an advert for a local housing association doing a scheme called ‘rent to buy’ so i got in touch. They had to do affordability checks and look at every single bit of our debt and outgoings and they offered us the house. We will be saving £400 on rent alone at the new house, not to mention its brand new. The scheme is you pay 80% market value rent for 21 months to start, then can renew, the house can be purchased after 7 years. The 20% of rent your not paying is to help you have for a deposit although they don’t do checks, you just have a conversation over 21 months to see how its going, you dont have to buy the house at the end if you dont want to.
So what this means for us…………….. We can actually start saving for a deposit and we can pay off debt quicker while living in a beautiful home! We have added a little bit to credit cards to get the place but nothing we can’t fix by the end of the year. SO VERY POSITIVE at the moment, its the start of a new life for us thats fore sure.Debt free wannabe :T0
