Damaged clothing

Hello everyone. I bought a sweatshirt and I just wear it for the first time while driving a car. My new sweatshirt is now damaged because of the seat belts. The sweatshirt has now marks of the seat belts like small balls of threads on it surface. Can I return it to the shop for a refund? The seat belts are slippery so they should not damage the fabric

Unlikely as you say its been damaged due to the seat belts .
But you can always ask the retailer .
  • Having said that though, you would probably be right to expect an article of clothing to be able to withstand being used in a car in such a fashion.

I'd take it back, it should not go bobbly that quickly.
(Although I could be wrong, I often am.)

I think it's worth asking. Unless it's pure lambswool or some other super-soft fibre it shouldn't bobble quite that easily. If it is a luxury wool sweater, maybe best not to wear it to drive in!

The surface of the seat belts might be nice and smooth but it tends to be the edges that are rougher and do this sort of damage

What sort of garment is it?

Most fabric pills to a degree. Wool does it very easily but they also tend to break away on natural fibres. And how bad is it? Like fuzz or ready to break away?
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
