Bill not yet setup by EON for gas on new build
I've moved into our new build this year february. Eon provides electricity and gas. We are registered for electricity with them but for gas they are having some trouble getting us registered and every time i call in they ask for 5 -10 working days but nothing happens. Haven't still received a single gas bill. What can i do about this? Don't take me wrong i'm happy not to pay but i dont want them to send me a bill 500- 600 pounds all of a sudden adding evrything together.

It took us a few months to get set up for energy bills in our new build. We are now all sorted for gas and electric but Severn Trent have still not got us fully set up for the water. This is after moving in in April!
We keep pestering them and they have now set it up so that our first payment comes out at the beginning of next month, six months after we moved in!0 -
Advice? Obviously keep on at them, trying to move up the management chain might help. The most important thing you can do is to put an amount by every month for when the bill does arrive.
I take it you’ve got your meter reading from when you moved in and can read it now so maybe work out what you owe based on their SVT, put that aside along with the standing charge and the bill shouldn’t be a shock.
Start as you mean to go on and keep those meter readings from now, ideally monthly or even more frequently.0 -
Happy not to pay is only going to be billed at a later date if you are using the services .0

Keep reading the meter, keep on at them, put money away and hope it takes them more than 12 months to sort it out.0

I'm sorry your gas is taking longer to set up than the electricity. We've a specialist New Connections team who will be looking after this. They'll be happy to give you an update.
If you haven't given this information already, it'll help to move this forward if you can let them have your full name, the Royal Mail postal address, contact details, plot number if applicable, the meter serial number (from the meter itself), the handover date, meter readings for this date and the latest reading.
Other than the gas, I hope the move went well and you've settled in to your new home.

I had the same problem with eon but for my electric account. It has only just been resolved last week, it had been on going since Sept 2018 so almost a full year for them to 'fix' the issue. Not even a letter/email to tell me it had been resolved or to offer any kind of apology for the stress it had been causing. Very poor service but now my year contract is almost up so will be moving supplier0
