Just updating.....I got my refund today. Although I was promised a full refund of £49.99 plus postage for returning only the MP3 player I was initially only refunded £23.96 - so I emailed Amazon and explained that I confirmed with the customer services operator that I would be getting a full refund of £49.99 plus postage costs and I could keep the camera. I put in the email that if they recorded calls perhaps they would like to check the tapes. Was very polite but just requested the additional refund be processed and also that they hadn't refunded all postage costs and as the postage had cost me £4.75 to ensure appropriate compensation should the parcel go astray then that was the amount I would like refunded. No problems.....additional £30.78 refund processed within an hour.

Total refund of £54.74 (ie full refund of £49.99 + £4.75 return postage costs).

    Superb customer service IMHO
  • My refunds came through without any problems too so I'm happy with the service.

yep they emailed me...but also check your amazon account and click on that particular order. If you scroll the bottom then that is where they detail refunds. It took about a week to go through I think. I posted the MP3 player back on 7th December and received the refund on 13th
  • Sent the MP3 player back on 8th and received email today to say that they were only refunding £1.20 postage

Got CS to ring me and when I eplained the situation they said they would refund the £49.99 straight away :D but have yet to receive confirmation email. I was all fired up to stand my ground but didn't have to fight my case at all - as long as the refund goes through OK!
Will let you know in due course.

21/12 Full refund received to cc yesterday :D

still no sign of amazon having received player or giving refund - wish i'd sent it recorded as all i have is a certificate of posting - as i followed amazon's advice and printed out label and sent normal mail (which they say to do if item under £50) are they liable at all if it doesn't turn up? - i know they probably aren't (caveat emptor etc etc)
