    Has anyone got an email from them indicating a full refund, but keep the camera...?

    They don't email, but the lady on the phone assured me that I would get a full refund and postage refunded if I returned the MP3 player. I asked if I had to return the camera and case and she said no that I could keep those as it was their error, but that I would definitely get a refund of £49.99 (which was all I paid as I only bought the S630 camera).

    Go to your order on your account at Amazon and choose the return an item option and the forms come up to state reason for return....I selected parts missing (well 1gb was missing:rotfl:) but clarified in the text box the reason and put that I was assured by the customer service agent that I would receive a full refund and claimed my postage costs of £4.75 - special delivery to ensure sufficient compensation should the parcel get lost in transit. The site then prepares returns labels and inserts. Brilliant service.

    I sent them a email stating that I had ordered a 2Gb player and a 1GB player was delivered, they responded back within 5 minutes asking for the return of the player and will refund once received.

    I looked at the invoice very carefully and they have charged me for this item but have subtracted the value as a "Gift Certificate" I guess the agent sees this as a purchase and not a freebie hence the refund offer.

    I did not mention any free offer, the way I see it is either they should send a 2GB player or we are entitled to the value of the "free" item i.e. £49.99.

    What did you say to them ?

    They've got another camera offer on Monday !

    Hopefully they will upgrade the freebie camera to the s700 like they did last time.
  • I think this is the problem, as it was free, they don't seam to care....
    got them to 15% which is about 7.50 - not happy with that

    The problem with Amazon is you get different responses from different customer services

    Did you mention to them that you had received the player for free ?

    If I were you I would email/call them and ask them to stick to the terms of the offer i.e. the samsung 2gb player if they do not have one you are entitled to the value of the offer i.e. £49.99.

  • I had the same problem but did get an email saying they would give me a full refund once the 1GB mp3 player was returned. The refund came through and they only gave me £24.99! I phoned them today and stuck to the fact that I should have had a 2GB mp3 player or a refund for £49.99 and my postage paid. They have now refunded the extra £25 plus my postage cost so in total I should get back £49.99 plus postage. Now i will be watching my credit card to make sure they do it! You will have to be persistent.
  • Thanks for the warning. I checked my delivery which I had put away in the wardrobe and the MP3 was 1GB and not 2GB as specified on the invoice - there was a barcode sticker over the product details and I am very annoyed about this apparent deception! I have today returned the MP3 player and expect to be refunded the full amount plus postage otherwise there will be trouble.

    I only ordered a Samsung camera to get the MP3 player for my daughter's 18th as she had both on her wishlist! I would have been really upset to find out on her birthday that Amazon had pulled a fast one!
