Cifas Query

Hi all,
So I have a Cifas mark against my name from Barclays. I've put in a complaint and hope to have it removed soon.
My question is this, I need to become a joint signatory on a Lloyds account. They refused me for a normal account around 6 months ago which is why I found out about the Cifas mark. The Cifas mark accuses me of opening an account for different purposes as to what they thought (debatable but not for now). Do you think I will be able to become a co-signatory on the Lloyds account as it is already set up?

You'll need to ask them. It depends on the CIFA marker they've applied and Lloyd's risk criteria.0

I'm curious what you mean by "debatable"? Either you did intend to misuse the account or you didn't? CIFAS is typically only meant for serious fraud stuff and wouldn't be granted without a good reason (in the eyes of the bank at least).
Let your complaint run it's course and escalate to the FOS if needed. I would personally wait until the marker is removed before trying to make changes to your Lloyds account, but if you absolutely have to then I'd probably get in touch and ask them before you submit your application.0 -

Thanks.
I didn't intend to misuse the account.
I'll drop them a quick call today and feel they out on it.0
