RBS August payment

Has anyone else had problem getting the £125 payment due end of August? I followed all necessary steps only to be told yesterday that as I had applied to switch over the phone I wouldn’t get the payment and to complain to proceed further.
Without going into details the procedure was very problematic and I had to ring up on at least 3 occasions as first account opening and then the switching process took over six weeks to complete. Account was opened online and I indicated on form that I wanted to switch an account to them.i bizarrely had 2 account numbers and forms which is where I suspect the problem may have occurred but was assured by staff that this was not a problem.
I also opened a Halifax account on the same day (2 Tesco accounts to switch) and this was smooth and easy by contrast.

    Hi, my own switch was beset by problems on day one and took nearly twelve weeks, this too was online. Complain and ensure you get to speak to their complaints team. If you have the evidence to back it up you will get their bribe.
    Mine has just been paid but the service is so inept I am moving it again as it is my main bank account and I cannot and will not accept such a poor bank

  • Thank you for your reply. I was feeling v lonely 😂. I have had a response from the complaints team and should be talking to them hopefully by the end of the week. Good to hear your problem was resolved satisfactorily.
  • RBS complaints department rang and the situation has been resolved satisfactorily. A very pleasant and knowledgable gentleman who is a credit to the bank.
