-taff - sounds like your Dad has delirium. My DM had it post-operatively though it wears off. She saw things which weren't there, things moving on her legs and had very vivid dreams about the most weird things. All other things being well it should pass though it is very scary. Once I knew about it I just went with the flow - lasted about two weeks.

Afternoon all,
Cooler this morning, but when we went out for a walk around 1 it had warmed up nicely. Need to bring a bag tomorrow as there are blackberries ripening by the day..
Tuna sandwich for lunch, followed by ordering of logs for fires and kerosene for boiler,.......799euro in total so tightly closed purse for a couple of weeks!
DD1 is chef tonight so don't know what she is planning, she asked if we have potatoes so assume they will be part of dinner.
Nothing to report, my life is Boring with a capital B!
Hugs to all

We've got a rainy day here the dogs are so miserable they just want to run outside with the door to inside left open. We are also off to Greece shortly so looking forward to those lovely warm temperatures, going in September keeps us set up for the winter and stops DH from being quite so miserable with the winter blues.
I know I am new to this thread but I do read and I would just like everyone to know that I think of them and am wishing you all the very best with your problems, life has its storms but we also have rainbows.
Have a good day everyone and I am sending hugs to those who need them.Weight loss 6lb/16lb 10lb to goI spend an insane amount of time wondering if I am doing it right, sometimes I remind myself that I am doing my best....and that is enough0 -
taff, when dad was in intensive care he kept saying the staff were poisoning him and that they were changing the time on the clock. Hugs to you.0

Gers, I think you're right, except the treatment for that involves doing all the things he is refusing to do. He won't eat or drink normally, we get excited if we find out he's had a tub of icecream...and drunk 50ml of water...yesterday he drank enough liquid to send his blood pressure back into the normal zone. Today...nope... I know exactly why we get happy but realistically, he's not doing enough to sustain life, was not interested in doing that when he was composed mentis, so all we can do is watch him slowly getting worse.
We know he's dying, but we don't really want to face it. My sister keeps coming up with ideas and I have to keep knocking them back because they are not going to work or we are too late to implement anything....
Sorry.....just realised I wrote an essay....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

My DM was the same until eventually she was readmitted to hospital and put on IV fluids which helped restore her somewhat. Only very recently has she pulled herself back from the brink, no one could do it for her although she still doesn't drink nearly enough.
A DNAR only applies to CPR in the event of a cardiac episode.
It's an awful situation you're in and my heart goes out to you in spades. :heart2:0
