Hi on Saturday my mum purchased a 2016 used car with only 10k miles on it, one previous owner and was in immaculate condition. She briefly test drove it on Saturday with no issues.
Today she set off on her 4 hour trip home and approx 1 hour in it started to judder. She then turned around and headed back to my brothers as was very concerned about driving it all the way home. The issue continued on her drive back.
On researching the issue tonight it seems to be a known fault with the make and model even to the extent the manufacturer has extended the warranty on the part causing the problem to 5 from, 3 years.
Is my mum within her rights to reject the car and asked for a full refund as even though the issue can be fixed many owners report repeats of the same issue.
My mum is 73, lives remotely: on her own (widowed 5 months ago) and a 8 hour round trip to the dealership she needs a reliable car hence why I would like a refund and not a repair.
Thks
