Santander regular saver overpayment
alternate
I gave up calling after being on hold 30 mins. I thought I would ask here.
I overpayed my first payment in to a santander monthly saver (now regular esaver).
It is supposed to be 200 a month and I thought it was 250.
This was in August.
According to T&C they reserve the rights to downgrade account to a normal saver if you overpay.
Anyone have experience with this? I am hoping they have suggestions over the phone but they seem busy at the moment and tbh santander customer service has never impressed me much.
I guess worst case - as the account allows withdrawals, I can close the account and if it allows, start another.
Thanks

Seconded. I find they get back quite quickly - within 24 hours - if you use the secure message facility in online banking.Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. Have been converted to the "budget to zero" concept and use YNAB for all monthly budgeting and long term goals.0

In the old 5% saver I paid too early the second month and they returned the payment to my current account. They don't have a history of downgrading people, despite the t & C's saying they can.0
