Hi, I signed up to a ppi company which recently told me all my claims were closed. I have now received a payout directly from Santander. Do I still have to pay my claim company their commission as they’ve emailed me today saying my claim was successful after telling me my claims were closed.

No you dont but the CMC will almost certainly try it on. See the following publication - page 2 - additional client fees - paragraph 4. It is not exactly the same scenario but is broadly similar in respect of the contract. Basically, once the CMC says the case is closed, their contract ends.

If the CMC persist then raise a complaint to them saying that they failed and closed the case and that this redress has nothing to do with them. They will almost certainly reject that complaint and you refer it to the FOS. The FOS are upholding over 40% of complaints against claims companies at the moment.0
