Access to Work query

Options
I have applied for ATW assistance (the second time in 8 years)
My employers are querying why (not actually refusing)
Are there any grounds that my employers could refuse me ATW on ?
I work 10 hours per week and am a permanent employee

I am disabled (they have given me a disabled parking spot in the past)
But a change in management has changed things

Not sure if it still works the same way but when I changed employer you request an Access to Work assessment.
A specialist in your type of disability then visits you in the work place to see what can be changed or what assistance provided to help you do the job.

I have been at the workplace for 8 years and had an assessment in 2014 - this gave me a decent seat and several other bits and pieces - I have reapplied now (mainly because technology has, itself, moved on considerably) and hence more options for assisted technology etc
Since my employers have failed to respond to an email from DWP - I have just been told that I need to reapply !!
    I am not very happy

    Update :
Heard from ATW who have CANCELLED my claim - because my employers failed to return a call - 10 days ago - I work at a school (summer hols !)
I have found ATW staff handbook on line and have found the section stating :

"279. If the customer does not contact within the 10 days, close the application on DiSC and record the closure in DiSC notes"

I am the customer and requested that the case be reopened - my line manager is NOT the customer....
Why do they make these things so hard ?

    OP

I have submitted my ATW application today 1st time from Oc Health recommendations.
Not sure what to expect -3 week initial response time.
Excellent point as your are the Customer unless they are referring to you're Employers Manager as their Customer. -maybe you passed those details as a contact as this is on the form.
Maybe an experienced MSE'r can help you -hope it turns out well.

Employer owned mine. I wasn't allowed to instal software and had to give it back when I left. Though they were a large employer so had to make a contribution toward it.

I have a special (£800+ seat that was given to me - my employer wants it back if I leave employment with them.
I understand that it transferred to a new employer - but what if I retire ?

No, you make a new application if you get new employment.

If you retire then you wouldn't be working so you would hand it back. If you paid for it yourself then understandably you could keep it, as you didn't then it's not yours to keep.
