Taff, my thoughts are with you.
Gers, I hope you manage to get some time at home.
I've not been very well the last few days but yesterday I got very fed up with myself and managed to take Ziggy out while Steve was golfing.
Laura and Brian are still in Greece and look to be having a relaxing time thankfully. She keeps whatsapping me baby products to look at and give my opinion. She has most of the big things second hand and is now looking at the things that people don't often get rid of. They still need a car seat which they will buy new as per safety advice. Not long now, which reminds me, any news Camelot?
Steve is taking the car to have the brake pads done, we are on a service contract but will have to pay for the brake pads (how much!!!).0 -
Good morning and thank you for starting today's thread nmlc.
Lovely sunshine here though it was quite cold during the night, I know this because I did not sleep much but I do gone up early. Du p,ING, sorry you had a rubbish night.
dp1 happy birthday for yesterday. Yes I watched the Handmaid's Tale and there was an article about Elisabeth Moss in the Times yesterday, it gave a hint of a possible further season but am not sure, could have just been a bit if misdirection. My ancient copy of the book is very tatty now but the words have not fallen from the pages.
I have lots of boring things to do today, so will start those in a minute, so far I've just done usual Monday type of things.
Thinking of taff.
Gers hope you manage a night or two at home.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning all.
I've been up since silly o'clock ( for me anyway as I'm usually comatose til lunchtime :rotfl: ) as the DGC were arriving for breakfast. Both deposited at school and once we returned home I put a wash out on the whirly, then we did a tip trip with some wood from the old fence panels.
We are now having a coffee and the birthday cake that I left at DD's yesterday before I make a start on the windows, the inside anyway. If I do a window per day it will take us up to our hols in mid Sept, as we have 14 plus the patio doors to do . Mr Fix It didn't have a very good night so he's going to take it easy today, he's just got his taxiing hat on.
This afternoon it's collect the DGC, put the bins out ( best make sure we do that the right way around :rotfl:) and then cook tea. I haven't decided what to have yet, but the freezers are full so there's plenty of choice.
dp1 Belated birthday wishes, you share the same day as our DGS. I can't believe your DGD is 8 months already .
Speky :hello: In case I forget enjoy your hols at the end of the week.
Still no sign of TA. I hope you are ok ? Thinking of the poorly ones, the carers and the MIA's.
Right must put the DW on, then crack on with the windows.
I hope everyone has a good Monday
Take care all

Morning all,
Overcast here this morning, not very cold but will wear a jacket when we go for a walk.
Had a visit from the police this morning......OH forgot to pay for petrol on Friday!! As we almost always use same garage and they recognise ,OH so we just have to go back to garage later and pay .......offspring will have a field day no doubt!!
I am on dinner duty tonight , we are having roast pork, whatever veg is in the fridge and ice cream if anyone needs a pudding.
Hugs to all are in need of some, to anyone poorly or those looking after poorly people, and to anyone who is not feeling at their best.

Hello chums a beautiful autumn day here in Kent ,sun is shining and a gentle breeze blowing. Just hung out two wash loads for DD and made lunch for DGS, only have today and tomorrow to do Grandma duties as he is back to school on Wednesday.
All my holiday washing is done and only a small bit to ironing tonight as I did a bit this morning .
I think I slept too heavy on Saturday night because I was so tired last night I was in bed by 11 and read until 12.30 and was wide awake at 4.30 and got up at five.
The upside is I tidied and cleaned all the work surfaces and had a bit of a change around in the kitchen so I have a nice shiny kitchen to go home to when I get relieved from Grandma duties later, the downside is I could quite easily have a Nanny nap at the moment but I daren't in case I can't get off again tonight.
DGS Mikey wants to have a look in B& Q later as he needs a new shelf for his bedroom so that's on the agenda around 2.00.p.m.
I have a list of to-do jobs for this week that I want to get done mainly paper work and a bit of banking as well as its the start of the month so its going to be a busy week
Hope the MIA's are all OK and soon return and <<hugs >>for those who are in need of one
Right got to get a wriggle on
Take care chums

Afternoon all. Sunny with some cloud and a good breeze. DS"s bedding is drying nicely but I am keeping an eye on the weather.
We went to Wothrrspooons in Nailsea this morning. It's only a quick run out from Bristol. We called in at Tosco there too and did a bit of shopping. Hunter's chicken tonight for dinner!
Speky nice too see you where are you going on holiday? HH hope you get a good mooring. Gers fingers crossed you can arrange some respite care. Dumpline boo to sore legs. dp1 8 months old already bless her. Taff thinking of you.
DD and dgs ate at Moorfields Eye Hospital today. Dgs has had his pre op and is having his glaucoma operation tomorrow. They have two nights accommodation there provided by a charity. Ronald McDonald I think it is. His op is a day case. Meanwhile we are looking after Rosie the hamster!
Welli I will love you and leave you. Hugs and spoons all round.

Managed to get a nice shelf that DGS wanted for his bedroom to display his models on (he collects Marvel comic models, buys and sells them online as well, makes a few extra pounds for his hobby)also managed to get to the car wash as my car was disgustingly grotty, full of sand and stones and dog hair and god knows what as its had 6 people and two dogs in it for the past two weeks.Nice and sparkly clean again .Our local car wash do inside and out for £8.00 on a Monday for pensioners and for a seven seater I think its pretty good, so another job off the list of to-do things.Only have the online banking bills to do now when I get home
been quite a productive day really, certainly got more done than I expected to.
Hope all goes well for your DGS GTM , don't lose the hamster
Cheers chums

Happy belated birthday dp1 :bdaycake::bdaycake:
Snoozer - hope you feel better by now.
Gintot - my fingers are crossed for your DGS. Good hear about the accommodation too.
After a period of undecision I eventually got myself into town despite the rain. Took back the unwanted jeggings and sorted out a maturing savings account. The money will come in handy for paying for the two new crowns tomorrow.
I rang a few care homes about short term respite care, all are full. I also rang a couple of opticians for a domicillary visit for DM, they'll put her on the list for when they are quiet. Could be next week, could be months to wait.
It's been a horrible day weather-wise. I'm now wearing a jumper as well as my usual Tshirt. The darkness is already closing in so it's probably time to put a light on. Yeugh!0
